Alligator Bund strap for Graham Chronofighter - The Beast!!

(Click on any photo to enlarge)

Hi strap lovers, I am very happy to share with you a new strap that I just completed for my Graham Chronofighter Oversize  that I picked up earlier this year, and that I love with it's large case and rather elegant panda dial, but hasn't gotten much wrist time because to be honest, the trigger chronograph pusher I found to be quite uncomfortable to actually wear.  I've been trying to figure out a custom Dangerous9strap for it and finally decided to take action to build myself a real show stopper of a strap backlog be damned!  Well, here is the result.  First of all it features a custom asymmetrical bund strap underlayment (discomfort issue resolved).  Made from our newly arrived and quite stunning Dark Tourbe Brune Alligator from our ultra premium France Croco Alligator collection (the first strap from this collection that I've made for myself).  And also features our 'Thick Curved Lug System' (TCLS)for and integrated fit between the lugs, Padding and also our 'SuperExotica' upgrade with Super fine hand saddle stitching in French Ecru linen and lined (including the bund underlayment) with our exclusive SuperMatte Teju Lizard skin (buttery soft and extremely durable).  I photographed the strap this evening, and wasn't able to capture the Teju lining, and will try to get some better photos of the strap in day light tomorrow.  Of course the bund underlayment is removable so if I want, I can wear just the strap portion if I like. All in all this strap at 65mm wide at it's apex is a beast on the wrist with the big 46mm Graham, but with the Teju Lizard lining extremely comfortable.  The Graham Chronofighter is designed to make a powerful statement, isn't it only fitting that it finally has and equally powerful strap to match?

Classic Antique Mahogany with a Twist

Hi strap lovers,  Here is a strap I recently completed for my good customer Neil from the UK for his 40mm PAM.  This strap features vegetable tanned leather done in our classic Antique Mahogany finish with our 'Thick Curved Lug System' (TCLS) to give the strap an integrated strap fit between the lugs, Padding and is stitched with our cream colored French linen thread which really give the strap 'pop'.  Topping this design off or should I say underlying the strap is a custom made bund underlayment.  The the strap is substantial and when combined with the bund underlayment give the whole package the look of a real piece of saddlery.  Quite impressive actually and really makes this 40mm Panerai look like a very serious piece of kit indeed.

1965 Swiss Ammo Skulls strap for U-Boat with Roller Buckle and extra metal keeper

Hi strap lovers, I want to share with you all a 1965 Swiss Ammo strap I just completed.  This strap features thick gauge French Ecru accent stitching and Skull rivets in Antiqued Bronze finish.  The new think that I would like to direct your attention to is the use of our recently arrived nickle finish Steel Roller buckle and extra metal keeper loop.  This is the first chance I've had to show these buckles off (we have them in 18, 20, 22, 24 and 26mm widths).  The strap featured here is 20mm wide and is using a 20mm roller buckle with an extra metal keeper loop, which I think gives the strap a real vintage pilot watch look.  These buckles are very traditional nickle finish, which is shinny, but as per my customer's request, I have given the buckle and loop a brushed finish.  I think is look pretty damn good and I think it's going to look great on Justin's U-Boat watch!!

These buckles are available in 18, 20, 22, 24 and 26mm widths with or without the extra metal keeper loop and give the strap a real vintage Pilot/Military look and are also great with leather Nato straps.

An Appreciation of Tribal Stitching

(Saddle Tan with Black Tips Cane Toad with Coco Linen stitching)

(Ebony Ostrich/Black Tribal stitching)
(Click on any photo to enlarge)
Hi strap lovers, I've not made many straps with tribal stitching, being a dedicated fan of saddle stitching, the tribal stitching seemed a bit of a fad for my naturally traditional tastes.  However, Have made a fair few of the straps in the last year, I must admit that I'm coming around to a fuller appreciation of the style.  The straps I've made that featured the admittedly more rustic stitching style I've invariably really liked especially when I've seen the resulting straps mounted up with their intended watches.  Also if the correct gauge of thread is used - not to thick of that the strap looks clunky and definitely not too thin so that the exposed threads are too easily damaged, and when paired with a high quality exotic leather, these straps look surprisingly elegant ..with just the right amount of rustic feel.  Of course, these straps wouldn't qualify as dressy exactly, they can certainly can be considered for more a more classy casual dress that more of us wear these days.

No in honor of the Stitch Tribal, here are a few photos and slide shows featuring this rather unique stitch pattern.
