Stephan's PAM288 on Vintaged Pecan Alligator Strap

(Click on any photo to enlarge)
I wanted to where some photos me made of our local customer Stephan's PAM288 on Dangerous9straps Pecan Alligator.  We Made this strap and photographed about a year ago (see the original post to compare) and want to share with you how the strap has patinaed over the past year of wear.  The Pecan Alligator top color finish has turned out to be less stable that we would have hoped and has aged into what's called in the leather industry as a 'rub-out' finish.  This would normally be a cause for concern but after seeing how the strap looks both we and Stephen are very happy with the patina.  He thinks it looks better than when it was new, since now it has some really great character.  I can't argue with that, I think it looks great after a year's wear.  Stephan, thank you for bringing your watch over to us to photograph.  Yours is definitely our 'Watch of the Week'

Buckles from Finewatchbuckles.com and special offer

(Click on any photo to enlarge)
Hi strap lovers, I've been meaning to share these fine watch buckles with you all for a while and give a small review of a section sent down to Munich from Dr. Ingo Woesner the creator behind Finewatchbuckle.com since before the Holidays, but my backlog and general busyness has delay me until now.  I first discovered Finewatchbuckles.com from my good customer Billy Hamadeh (thanks Billy).  It didn't take long for me to realize that Ingo's work really spoke to me.  As a lover of fine exotic wood, to combine this with two other of my passions (leather watch strap and watches) was too good to be true.  Contacting Ingo to make arrangements for delivery of Billy's buckle to be paired with a new watch strap I was making, he was kind enough (and very generous) to send me the large section of buckles you see here for review.  As luck would have it I was in the process of building a large group of prototype straps for my newly released 'Tuscan Collection', some of which you see here.  I'll be getting the Blue sub-Fossilized Bog Oak (2,000years old) and a Blue-green fossilized  Mammoth Ivory (15,000 years old) buckles to pair with my PAM243 and Kaventsmann Bathyal and probably a couple more or his wonderful wooden ones as well.  I've been wearing the Blue-Green Mammoth Ivory for about a month with a 'Nero' strap with French Ecru linen accent stitching and I can report that it's absolutely wonderful on the wrist.

The first impressions of the buckles is that they are pretty bulky, but they're are deceptively easy to wear, in that they weigh very little compared to Stainless or bronze and since they're not made from metal are never cold to the touch.  The finish in these buckles against the wrist is silky sooth with never a sharp corner and a joy to behold.  Paired with the handmade bolts (Demascus steel, Bronze or Mokume Gane)  which were handmade by Maddog here in Germany as well and a fine quality strap on you favorite watch, I can guarantee you'll fall in love too.  The buckles you see here, I have in hand currently and can be easily added to your strap order.  If you like the work, but don't see the buckle you want here, please do yourself a favor and contact Ingo about a custom buckle, he's got many different and wonderful materials on had and will be happy to hear from you.  I've got mostly 24mm widths here with a few 22mm and 26mm as well.

So here is the offer, If you buy a Dangerous9 strap from me and one of my in-stock Buckles from Finewatch buckles, I'll give you a 10 Euro discount off our regular priced strap.  I'll be sell these with no mark-up on my price from Ingo, so this is a great deal.  Most of these buckles will be going back to Ingo soon (I can't keep them all), so if you see one here you like, contact me right away.  I expect to be receiving new ones on a regular basis.

Swiss Army Rucksack Canvas and Vintage leather straps - Uniquely Dangerous9straps

(Click on any photo to enlarge)
Hi strap lovers, I wanted to share a section of our unique and exclusively designed Canvas straps made from a 1950's vintage Swiss Army Rucksack Canvas and leather Rucksack.  This basic design was a result of a collaboration between myself with friend and longtime customer Gabe Alvarez from Sunny Southern California.  From the first strap completed, I knew it was going to be an instant classic.  Here is a selection of different strap and styles.  These straps are among the most technically challenging to build consisting of 4 separate layers of leather and canvas: 1) Top Vintage leather trim layer. 2) Canvas layer. 3) Natural vegetable tanned leather mid-layer, which gives the strap strength and Body and 4) The vintage layer inner lining layer.  Of course the strap is then hand saddle stitching using fine linen thread.  The detail work on this strap is unlike anything you will fine from any other strap maker - the keeper along can take an hour to build and stitch - detail that is uniquely Dangerous9strap!!

(Click on any photo to enlarge)

Hi strap lovers and Happy New Year!  Here are 10 great wrist shot photos I've collected off Instagram of very good customer Bill and his beautiful vintage Omega Speedmaster with his Dangerous9straps' Super Distressed crackle finish leather strap.  This strap features hand saddle stitching in Butterscotch waxed Irish linen and 'Out-Stitching' at the lugs, Vintage black Special Calfskin lining and has been fitted an aftermarket deployment strap.  Not much else to say here except I love these photos and your Speedy will be our 'Watch of the Week'.
