Barbados Bleu - The latest from Premium France Croco!!

(Click on any photo to enlarge)
Hi strap lovers,   We've had quite a run lately with beautiful Alligator from our Premium Supplier France Croco.  Our France Croco Alligator Collection is without a doubt the finest Alligator hides I've seen with some really stunning hand finish colors.  If you'll recall we picked up a new batch this past fall and I'm finally making some straps from them.  Our Ultra Premium Martinique Bleu I had featured earlier and I would now like to share a couple of straps made from our Barbados Bleu.  This hide is a real stunner with overall a bit more green color that the Turquoise of the Martinique, but just as much character.  I recently completed these two straps for 2 different German customer (seeing this hide in person they just couldn't resist).  The first strap is built for a large 47mm PAM and the second is build for a beautiful vintage IWC DiVinci Perpetual Chronograph.  I think both of these straps turned out to be stunners.

Please notice the wonderful Blue/Green fossilize Mammoth Ivory buckle on the Panerai strap.  This buckles are very rare and handmade by my friend Ingo Woesner from FineWatchBuckles.com.  We've been fortunate to partner with Ingo to offer his buckles to our clients, and they've been selling fast, so if you see one that you like, please don't hesitate to order one right away.  Please notice the amazing heat blued Titanium Damascus buckle tang.  You won't be seeing the material very often this is only made my a single craftsman/manufactuer here in Germany using a patent pending process at involves forging in a vacuum - so this buckles is an amazing combination of high tech and ancient ivory - very cool!!!  By the Way, these Mammoth buckles are from Ivory collected in the Arctic and are between 15,000 to 65,000 years old and of course entirely one of a kind items.  Also, I have a small selection of exotic wood and horn buckles as well that I hope to be posting on my blog in the coming days, so keep look out here for those as well

The Panerai strap shown here features thick padding at the lugs, and our 'SuperExotica' upgrade with Classic Tan Eel skin lining and super fine hand saddle stitching using fine light Olive French linen thread

The second strap I am featuring here at only 19mm at the lugs and 16mm at the gold buckle, it is entirely of a different scale than the 25mm wide strap for the PAM127 strap above but just a beautiful.  This strap was made for a vintage IWC DiVinci perpetual Calander in gold and features padding at the lugs and to highlight the Blue tones in this hide instead of the green tones has been stitching using custom steel blue dyed fine french linen thread and lined with custom dyed matching steel blue Eel skin lining.  Switching the thread color and lining has a profound affect on the look of this hide, bringing out the many blue tones - It's not named Barbados Blue for no reason;-)
